EXCLUSIVE: Paradigm continues to expand its roster of athletes by signing Most Valuable Promotions’ boxing trailblazer Amanda “The Real Deal” Serrano, the most decorated fighter in women’s boxing for agency representation.
A record-setting seven-division world champion and the first undisputed Puerto Rican boxing champion, the agency touts Serrano’s “relentless work ethic, elite skill, and unwavering advocacy for gender equality in boxing in addition to her world titles across multiple weight classes.” With her professional record of 47-3-1 (31 KOs), she is regarded as one of the best punchers in female boxing with a knockout ratio that outclasses most of her peers.
“Amanda Serrano and MVP have shattered expectations, proving that women’s boxing isn’t niche but a global phenomenon. MVP is the biggest disruptive force in sports and entertainment,” shared Nick LoPiccolo of Paradigm’s The Sports Group.
On Friday, July 11, Serrano will headline the first all-women’s professional boxing card at Madison Square Garden where she will face off against Katie Taylor for the third time, which will stream live on Netflix. The bout will also mark another milestone: Serrano will become the highest-paid female athlete for a single sporting event, setting a new financial benchmark for women in sports.
“I’ve dedicated my life to this sport, breaking barriers, making history, and proving that women belong on the biggest stages in boxing,” Serrano tells Deadline. “Teaming up with Paradigm is the next step in continuing that mission. With the support of MVP and now Paradigm, I’m ready to take women’s boxing to even greater heights, and I can’t wait to show the world what’s next.”
Serrano competed against Taylor for the first time in 2022 at Madison Square Garden where the pair made history as the first women to headline the iconic venue. The bout won Sports Illustrated’s Fight of the Year and The Ring’s Event of the Year. She followed this competition by engaging in matches against Sarah Mahfoud and Erika Cruz whom she defeated while en route to becoming the undisputed featherweight champion. She successfully defended her undisputed title in August 2023 against Heather Hardy repeateding the win against Danila Ramos in October 2023 in the first-ever women’s unified world championship contested over 12 three-minute rounds — equal to a men’s championship fight—throwing a career-high 1,103 punches in the bout.
In recognition of her achievements inside and outside the ring, Serrano was named the Boxing Writers Association of America Female Fighter of the Year for 2023 and Sports Illustrated’s and Boxing Scene’s 2023 Women’s Fighter of the Year. She continued her dominance in July 2024, scoring a second-round knockout victory over Stevie Morgan in a super lightweight bout.
In November, Serrano faced Taylor a second time as the co-main event of Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson card on Netflix. The fight broke records, becoming the most-watched professional women’s sports event with 74 million live viewers globally, 56 million peak concurrent views, and an average minute audience (AMA) of 47 million in the US, according to the streamer. The bout, named 2024 Women’s Fight of the Year by ESPN, Sports Illustrated, and Boxing Scene, ended in a victory for Taylor.
Serrano recently signed an unprecedented lifetime contract with Most Valuable Promotions, founded by Jake Paul and Nakisa Bidarian, securing her future in combat sports both in and out of the ring. Serrano will fight under MVP’s banner until she retires and will then transition into a leadership role as Chairwoman of the company’s women’s boxing initiatives.
