Call of the Night Season 2 revealed a key visual, teaser trailer and a July 2025 release date, along with a new cast member. The anime was announced back in March 2024.
Rina Sato is joining the voice cast, while you can watch the teaser trailer below.

Studio LIDENFILMS animated the first season of Call of the Night, with Tetsuya Miyanishi as the chief director and Tomoyuki Itamura as the director. The rest of the main staff included Haruka Sagawa as the character designer and chief animation director and Yoshiaki Dewa as the music composer. The main voice cast includes:
- Sora Amamiya as Nazuna Nanakusa
- Gen Sato as Ko Yamori
- Miyuki Sawashiro as Anko Uguisu
- Yumiri Hanamori as Akira Asai
- Haruka Tomatsu as Seri Kikyo
- Shizuka Ito as Kabura Honda
- Yoko Hikasa as Kiyosumi Shirakawa
- Azumi Waki as Hatsuka Suzushiro
- Rina Sato as Kiku Hoshimi (NEW)
The anime is based on the manga by Kotoyama and it was named after Creepy Nuts’ song of the same name, “Yofukashi no Uta.” The band performed both the opening and ending songs for Season 1, which were titled “Daten” and “Yofukashi no Uta” respectively. The manga ended in January 2024 with a total of 200 chapters. Viz Media publishes the manga in English, describing the story:
“One night, sleepless Yamori slips out of his home to walk the streets of his town. Life after dark is a revelation! Especially when he meets flirtatious Nanakusa… She’s a lot more fun to share the night with than old drunks on park benches. When she invites him to spend the night at her place in an abandoned building, he’s stoked! But then he awakens to kisses on his neck with a little too much bite to them…“
