EXCLUSIVE: CBS will air Hearst Media Production Group’s new original series The Visioneers with Zay Harding on weekend mornings starting April 5.
The original series, produced in an exclusive partnership with VoLo Foundation, will be part of the CBS WKND educational/informational programming block and will also stream on Paramount+.
Timed to premiere at the start of Earth Month, the 30-minute weekly eco-adventure series is hosted by Harding, an international explorer known for the long-running PBS series Globe Trekker. Hearst and CBS say The Visioneers will take viewers around the world as it showcases the scientists, engineers, and everyday people who are creating environmental solutions.
The production arm of Hearst has a portfolio of more than 30 original series airing on broadcast networks, station groups, connected TV platforms and streaming services. Its library of more than 5,000 hours of programming is available in 97 countries.
Along with its production activities, privately held Hearst Corp. operates a string of local TV stations and is a 50-50 partner with Disney in A+E Global Media. The company also owns 20% of ESPN.
Over the past 25 years, Harding has appeared as host or guest star on more than a dozen television shows on ABC, Discovery Channel, FX, History, MTV, Nat Geo, Netflix, PBS, Travel and CBS. He developed an affinity for the outdoors after being born and raised in Hawaii.
