Jonathan Majors Moves Sherri Shepherd To Tears For ‘Magazine Dreams’; Says Support From Colleagues Amid Hollywood Comeback “Meant The World”

Jonathan Majors stopped by The Sherri Shepherd Show to promote his new film Magazine Dreams and moved the titular TV host to tears.

While talking about the character he portrays in his new film, Majors made host Sherri Shepherd cry as the character hit close to home.

In the film, Majors portrays aspiring bodybuilder Killian Maddox, whom the actor describes as “mentally different,” adding, “You find out that his childhood was a bit difficult, and therefore he moves through the world in a different way.”

Shepherd was moved by Majors’ character portrayal, saying, “I cry because my son moves through the world in a different way.”

The talk show host fought back tears and, as her voice cracked, added, “So to see you portray this character — it touched my heart. So that’s why I cry because you so beautifully portrayed this man.”

Majors pulled a tissue out of his pocket and handed it over to Shepherd so she could wipe off her tears.

“It really meant something to me watching that movie, when I watched you, Jonathan, you’re so beautiful in it,” she added.

Shepherd went on to acknowledge the support Majors has been receiving on his Hollywood comeback following his conviction of two misdemeanor counts of reckless assault and harassment and his probation sentencing. The host noted that stars like Whoopi Goldberg, Matthew McConaughey, and Michael B. Jordan have expressed their support publicly, with the latter saying he would work with him again.

“It’s fantastic,” Majors said of the support from his colleagues. “There’s a point where I wanted to give up on myself and I couldn’t and then I kept driving. And to look up and see friends, colleagues, brothers… they go, ‘Hey man, yeah you were down but we believe in you now.’ And that’s the important part.”

He continued, “We pushed, and I got to a certain place, and they say, ‘We see you. We love you and we believe in you now and what you’re going to do forward.’ And that meant the world to me.”
