Oshi no Ko Season 3 Puts Spotlight on Aqua in New Trailer, Visual
The third season of the record-breaking anime Oshi no Ko won’t be here until 2026, but this past weekend’s AnimeJapan 2025 show was the perfect time to drop some teasers. After putting out a video and visual for character Ruby in February, her brother Aqua has gotten the same treatment with his own video and visual.

The Oshi no Ko anime series hit the ground running in 2023, and HIDIVE said it was the best debut they’ve had on their streaming service. This was followed by a second season in July 2024.
The franchise started out as a manga series by Aka Akasaka and Mengo Yokoyari, and you can check out Otaku USA’s review of the first two volumes here. Yen Press publishes the manga in America, and gave this description for the plot:
Oshi no Ko Plot
Gorou is a gynecologist and idol fan who’s in shock after his favorite star, Ai, announces an impromptu hiatus. Little does Gorou realize that he’s about to forge a bond with her that defies all common sense! Lies are an idol’s greatest weapon in this outrageous manga from Aka Akasaka (Kaguya-sama: Love is War) and Mengo Yokoyari (Scum’s Wish).
Besides this anime adaptation, Oshi no Ko has also received live-action treatment and a stage play. It’s additionally receiving a puzzle game!
Talking about his inspiration for the series, mangaka Aka Akasaka remarked, “With the spread of the internet, we live in a society where fans’ voices are heard directly. I want people to know how young talents are being hurt, exploited, and suffering.”
The manga series recently concluded. Akasaka is already hard at work on another series, Märchen Clown, where he’s collaborating with Aoi Kujira of Geek Circle Crisis and Ajichika, the illustrator for the Record of Ragnarok manga.
