Three days removed from Game 1 against their provincial foe, the Ottawa Senators have some concerns about their captain.
Brady Tkachuk left Thursday’s regular-season finale against the Carolina Hurricanes after the second period and the team later announced that he would remain out for precautionary reasons.
It’s unclear when he suffered the injury, but he was high-sticked late in the second period. He returned to the game following that play.
The 25-year-old was making his return to the lineup after missing 10 games with an upper-body injury. The forward posted 55 points (29 goals, 26 assists) in 71 games this season.
The Senators are set to play their first playoff series since 2017 against the Toronto Maple Leafs. Game 1 takes place Sunday, April 20 at 7 p.m. ET / 4 p.m. PT on Sportsnet and Sportsnet+.
