How to Become Ordinary (Shoshimin) Season 2 unveiled the videos for its opening and ending theme songs. The opening theme song “Kaseijin” is performed by Yorushika while the ending theme song “SugaRiddle” is sung by Yanagi Nagi.
Mamoru Kanbe returns to direct the sequel in studio Lapintrack with Toshiya Ono writing the series composition. Atsushi Saito is still the character designer and Mayu Gushiken continues their role as the chief animation director. Takahiro Obata also returns to compose the music.
The voice cast includes:
- Hina Youmiya as Yuki Osanai
- Shuichiro Umeda as Jogoro Kobato
- Makoto Furukawa as Kengo Dojima
- Yume Miyamoto as Tokiko Nakamura
- Teppei Uenishi as Takahiko Urino
The anime is based on a novel series by Honobu Yonezawa, known for the Hyouka series, published by Tokyo Sogensha. Manga adaptations of the first two novels were serialized in Monthly GFantasy magazine. The first manga (Shunki Gentei Ichigo Tart Jiken) featured art by Anko Manjuya while OmiOmI illustrated the second (Kaki Gentei Tropical Parfait Jiken).
The synopsis of the series is as follows:
“Let’s help each other and aim to become perfect ordinary citizens.”
Kobato, who once had a bitter experience through deduction activities known as “wisdom work,” was determined to become an honest and humble citizen. He secretly formed a reciprocal relationship with his classmate, Osanai, who shared the same aspiration, planning to make their high school debut as ordinary citizens and lead peaceful days. However, for some reason, mysterious incidents and misfortunes keep coming one after another into their school lives. Will Kobato and Osanai be able to achieve peaceful days as ordinary citizens?
